HappinessFirst Learning – Gardening is known for it’s positive effect on mental health and function. It is a great opportunity to join in the fun, make new friends who have a similar interest and learn new skills. Gardening classes are designed to teach and reinforce real world skills, which can be applied independently by the participant once they have completed the course.

Who is the class designed for ?

This course is designed for those with no knowledge or experience with gardening, aged 10 years old +. Please keep in mind, our courses are all tailor made based on the age and ability of individuals and groups booked. 

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, you will have learned how to:

  • create garden beds
  • select vegetables to plant based on season
  • maintain a veggie patch
  • grow your own vegetables

Duration

Each Gardening Class is 5 hours, including breaks.

Venue

Classes can be held on school/office site or at an agreed location convenient for the participants. At your home too!

Materials & Tools

All materials and tools are provided. However, participants are also welcome to bring their own tools.

Class Size 

Depending on the participants age and abilities. Can be offered 1:1.

Requirements 

  • Wear closed-in shoes
  • If you have long hair, please tie it back
  • please bring lunch/dinner and snacks

Cost 

$217.40 inc GST

This course is NDIS approved, so NDIS funding can be used.
